Kellanova – Creating Better Days™

As part of their Better Days™ promise, Kellanova, is committed to providing 100 million serves of cereal and snacks to Australian and Kiwi communities in need by 2030.

Kellanova's Challenge

To reach those communities across New Zealand, Kellanova was faced with the challenge of co-ordinating and distributing their donated product, taking up valuable time and resource. Previously Kellanova arranged multiple deliveries to several different organisations, finding those who had the capacity to store, handle and re-distribute bulk volumes to those in need of food support.

NZFN's Solution

We simplified this process for Kellanova, and our network of Food Hubs became their vehicle for intentional giving, making it easier to keep their ‘better days’ promise.

The Result

Kellanova can now simply schedule a donation each quarter to our Auckland and Christchurch DCs, where the gifted cereal is broken down into manageable quantities and delivered to our nationwide network of 60+ Food Hubs, who then distribute it to those who need it most in their communities.

The impact for the community

Kellanova firmly believes in the importance of starting each day with a nutritious breakfast and that no one should have to wake up to an empty bowl, a sentiment shared by NZFN and our Food Hubs:

With the unpredictable nature of surplus donations often creating uncertainty in the level of support we can provide to our Food Hubs, gifted donations make an incredible difference. Kellanova’s intentional giving allows us to consistently supply a highly requested product with sufficient shelf life, which also comes with plenty of nutritional benefits for them to spread throughout their communities.
